Furthermore, the management of swallowing disorders \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\"\u003ewith this population is often delegated to one team member, which may not include or allow the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\"\u003eteam approach to address all the related issues.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\"\u003eDysphagia with cardiopulmonary patients may often significantly affect a person’s clinical \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\"\u003eoutcome, to include their length of hospital stay, their prognosis for recovery, their nutritional \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\"\u003estatus and other quality of life issues. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\"\u003eThis course will initially provide significant factors about different types of cardiac and \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\"\u003epulmonary disease and will then share evidence from several studies of how and why dysphagia \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\"\u003emay be common with such patients with a variety of conditions. Factors of relevant medications \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\"\u003ewill be shared for the participant to optimally understand the risks of certain medications and \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\"\u003edrug classes. Significant time will then be spent explaining both the risks and benefits of \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\"\u003emodified diets and thickeners as such recommendations can be complicated. The relevance of \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\"\u003eall such factors will be shared from the perspective of different healthcare team members to \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\"\u003eencourage interprofessional practice for optimal outcomes from the perspective of each \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\"\u003ediscipline.
